Griffin was taken with the first overall pick of the 2009 Draft. After injuring his knee before the 2009-10 started, Griffin was forced to sit out what should have been his first year as a pro. This led many to speculate as to whether Griffin would prove to be yet another Clippers draft bust, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.

In his four seasons since, Griffin has proved very durable, and his play on the court has continued to improve and develop. This culminated in Griffin being spoken of as an MVP contender behind LeBron James and Kevin Durant last season, and it’s safe to say that that won’t be the last time he’s likely to be in that conversation.

At 25, Griffin is not only talented, but young. The current Clippers group has a lot of talent, and potential to succeed, but the reality is that they will go as far as Griffin can carry them, and that could be very far.
