McDaniels is a terrific defender and it’s no wonder that his style of play has drawn numerous comparisons to Kawhi Leonard of the San Antonio Spurs. His defense will translate to the NBA from day one and with Phoenix’s frontcourt a tad skimpy on rim protectors, being able to defend on the perimeter is key for the Suns and their reserves.

McDaniels still needs to work on his jump shot, but that’s really the only area of his game holding him back from becoming a very promising wing prospect. Seeing as Hornacek had a pretty smooth looking jump shot in his playing days, it’s safe to assume he’d be able to show McDaniels a thing or two in that respect. McDaniels likely will be taken in the early twenties, but if he’s still available, the Suns should pounce on this former Clemson Tiger.
