This was a deal that landed the Raptors an eventual fan favorite as they traded a 2004 second-round pick to the Chicago Bulls for Matt Bonner.

The 6’10” forward made his debut a year later after earning a spot on the 2004-05 roster. As I have said before, he quickly won everyone over with his hustle, 3-point shooting ability and a quirky sense of humor.

Bonner played two seasons in Toronto before being traded to the San Antonio Spurs where he settled in quite nicely as a role player making a contribution on a team that has been a perennial contender.

The Red Rocket has drained 736 3-point field goals in his career and overall is a 41.7 percent shooter from beyond the arc.
