Los Angeles Clippers: Draft Prospect – Jordan Clarkson
By Adam McGee
Defense
Although his above-average length allows him to bother shooters and ball handlers a little bit more than most, Clarkson still has a lot of work to do on his defensive game.
Once again, Clarkson’s combo guard status comes into play here, as he isn’t fast enough to guard many smaller guards. Clarkson’s average lateral quickness leaves him looking flat footed against fast point guards, and as a result he can give up the rim a little easily.
Having averaged only 1.1 steals per game in his junior season with Missouri, Clarkson needs to increase his activity and awareness across the defensive end if he wants to become a better defender.
