As I mentioned briefly in the introduction, Jordan Clarkson is tall enough that he has the potential to play at either guard spot in the NBA. At 6’5″, with a 6’8″ wingspan, Clarkson is probably more suited to playing as a 2 guard, in a physical sense, but has played his way up the ranks as a point guard.

You’ll get a sense of why that is a little bit later, but first let’s focus on the advantages Clarkson’s versatility offers. Clarkson loves to drive to the rim, and when he finds himself matched up with point guards, his size makes him nearly unstoppable. The Texas native is by no means a post presence, but with the right match-up, his size allows him to score down low.

I suppose the most important question here is, do the Clippers want a combo guard though? With the prospect of pure point guards, or sharp-shooting 2 guards on offer, does the team need a guy who is capable of both, but the master of neither?
