3. Caron Butler

The Brooklyn Nets are going to need a veteran small forward to come in and fill the spot left by Pierce, assuming he does sign elsewhere. One player that would make a lot of sense at a lower contract would be Caron Butler. Butler finished the season strong with the Oklahoma City Thunder, and will likely be looking for a larger role in a starting lineup this offseason. His price tag is not going to be too high, and he would bring the offensive punch that the Nets need. In 22 games with the Thunder last year, he averaged 9.7 points and 3.2 rebounds per game. This isn’t the type of move that will take the Nets to the championship, but it is a solid addition that will help them compete.
