Shortly after the NBA Draft lottery, the calls started coming in.  Teams around the league were calling David Griffin to state a vague interest in the first overall pick. What exactly that looks like, no one knows…but the interest is there.

One such example is the Philadelphia 76ers, who are said to be enamored with Andrew Wiggins and could be interested in pursuing a trade with Cleveland to ensure that Wiggins starts his career in the City of Brotherly Love.

If the Cavaliers believe unequivocally that that Milwaukee Bucks would pass on Embiid, and take Jabari Parker instead, then a trade with Philadelphia makes sense.

If they are positive that they could still draft Embiid at No. 3, while adding someone like Thaddeus Young (or miraculously push for the No. 10 pick as well), then a deal couldn’t make more sense.
