Los Angeles Clippers: Draft Prospect – Jordan Adams
By Adam McGee
Defense
Adams has strong potential as a defender, he just needs to learn to be more disciplined. The Atlanta native has a gift for reading the movement of the ball while defending, and that results in him being slightly over eager at times.
His eye for the passing lane helps him to disrupt play time and time again, while his active hands will consistently earn him steals and force the opposition into turnovers. Adams averaged an eye-catching 2.6 steals per game with UCLA last season, and there’s no reason why that awareness won’t translate to the pro game.
Adams just has to ensure to make use of his physical skills and not get sloppy and he can develop into an excellent defender. He has a habit of looking unprepared defensively form time to time, and quitting once his man gets past him. That’s the sort of trait that would quickly get him benched in the NBA.
