Cleanthony Early, Wichita State

For a player projected to go in the second round, you won’t find many better than Wichita State’s Cleanthony Early. Listed at 6’7″, the guy has legitimate small forward size and can score in multiple ways. His true shooting percentage of 64 percent ranks seventh among top-100 prospects.

Being a senior has negatives and positives. He’ll never be a “star,” but in the second round what do you expect? Chandler Parsons was a senior and a second-round pick, and now he’s the third-best player on a team some would consider a title contender.

Early is one of my favorite prospects in the draft and if the Sixers are able to pick him up in the second round – perhaps at No. 32 – it will be a pick I can get on board with. Having said that, with some of the win-now teams being located at the end of the first round, it wouldn’t surprise me if he made a jump up mock drafts.
