Isaiah Austin, Baylor

The 7’1″ big man from Baylor is an interesting project pick and one that could work for the Sixers. He can block shots (3.2 per game in college), run the floor well for a man of his size and he has a nice shot that if worked on, could extend to NBA range one day.

He’ll need time, though. Fortunately for the man from Baylor, the Sixers have that time. There is no rush to be great, and if they think he isn’t completely ready for the NBA they could send him down to Delaware for a season.

We talk about upside a lot, and Austin is one of the highest upside guys projected to go in the second round. It is a nice fit for both camps.
