In the past few days, news has emerged that the Detroit Pistons 27-year-old power forward, Jonas Jerebko, will opt in to the final year of his contract, and stay in the Motor City for one more year at least. This will be the Swede’s sixth season as a Piston since entering the draft after a spell in Italy, making him one of the more familiar faces around the Palace of Auburn Hills.

What does Jerebko bring to the table, and should Detroit fans be happy to see him come back though? Jerebko works incredibly hard and can never be accused of lacking effort. He’s also very skilled, and Jerebko has been one of the most underused and underrated players on the Pistons roster in the last couple of seasons.

Let’s take a look at how he might fare in the coming season, and the potential he has to become one of new coach Stan Van Gundy’s favorites.
