Detroit Pistons: Can Brandon Jennings Be A Steadying Influence?
By Adam McGee
Ball Handling and Security
As I’ve already noted, Jennings doesn’t lack in terms of skills. His handle is very accomplished, and Jennings has no problem in beating his man off the dribble. Instead, Jennings issues come out of his lapses in concentration.
The California native can be turnover prone when placed under pressure. Last season, Jennings had an assist to turnover ratio of 2.83 per game, which was only good enough for 30th in the NBA. If Jennings even wants to build towards being an elite guard in the NBA, he needs to improve this, but also grow more aware of his surroundings on the court.
Jennings needs to improve his eye for open teammates, as well as improving his security when carrying the ball over half court in transition.
