One of the reasons why Hinrich has earned the respect of Tom Thibodeau and his teammates is because of his professional demeanor both on and off the court.

As ESPN Chicago’s Nick Friedell reports, here is what the veteran point guard had to say during the team’s final media session on Apr. 30:

"I grew up a Bull in this league. I will always think of myself as a Chicago Bull no matter what happens. Just moving forward, I have a great relationship with a lot of my teammates here who are coming back. The organization — there’s definitely a lot of history there."

Most fans may say that Hinrich was not a great scorer and he did not shoot the ball at a high percentage.

And based on his season averages, that statement would be correct.

However, the Bulls did not sign Hinrich to be a prolific scorer or to shoot lights out each night.

He was acquired to provide the team with leadership at the starting point guard position and defend—both of which he did very well.

Whether or not he has played his last game for the Bulls remains to be seen.

But being that Hinrich and the front office have a mutual respect for one another, it is possible he will be back again next season.
