2. Kevin Love fits with the Suns:

This is a bit of a no-brainer, but it needs to be stated: Kevin Love would be a perfect fit with this Phoenix Suns roster. You hated losing in the cold of Minnesota every season, Kevin? Come on down to Phoenix, where the weather is warm and the Suns are one star piece away from being a real force in the loaded Western Conference! You’ve had injury problems in the past? That’s okay, the Suns warlock training staff lives up to the hype (just ask Steve Nash and Grant Hill!). You like being able to kill defenders in the post, bury opponents with threes off of pick and pops and not really play that much defense? Great! You just described the quintessential spirit of the 2013-14 Phoenix Suns!

Channing Frye had a tremendous year in his first season back after missing a year with a heart condition and he’s become a bit of a fan favorite as the local Arizona product. But he’s no Kevin Love and if Frye could be so devastating in pick-and-pop situations with Dragic and Bledsoe, just imagine how destroyer-of-worlds dominant Love could be. The Suns would cherish the rebounding and dangerous scoring threat he brings and though he wouldn’t improve the team defensively, it’s not like he’d be a drastic downgrade compared to any of the players Phoenix would be giving up to acquire Love.

The best part about this is that because a trade with the Suns would involve the Wolves going the “long rebuild” route, Phoenix wouldn’t have to give up too much in order to make this deal work. Yes, the draft picks would almost all assuredly be gone and a couple of young assets would follow, but even losing Markieff Morris might be worth it if the Suns can nab Love and keep the roster largely intact. From a basketball standpoint for Love and a trade standpoint for Minnesota’s front office, the Phoenix Suns bring the whole package.
