Leandro Barbosa signing back with the Phoenix Suns was one of many feel-good moments of the 2013-14 season and although he didn’t have a tremendous impact on the court, most of that was due to rust and nagging injuries that kept him sidelined for most of his season. Had he been able to stay on the court more regularly, he might have been able to provide another backcourt scoring punch off the bench.

If the Suns decide to re-sign Barbosa to a cheap contract, they could lock into a great source of bench production next season. Barbosa’s 14.7 points per 36 minutes shows he can score points in bunches and there’s no better way to pump up a crowd for 41 home games than an old fan favorite streaking down the court full speed and laying the ball in the hole.
