Unfortunately from Barbosa, injuries really derailed what might have been in his limited time with the Suns. He missed five straight games in February (shoulder injury, toe injury and DNP – Coach’s Decision) and then fractured his hand in March, which held him out for the rest of the season. After suffering a torn ACL with the Boston Celtics in 2013, it’s not unfair to wonder if the 31-year-old Barbosa is a little too injury prone to re-sign him to a significant deal.

Barbosa is always entertaining to watch, but he wasn’t the most consistent backup in his limited time with the Suns. The Brazilian Blur just 42.7 percent from the floor, but only converted 28 percent of his three-point attempts and had an atrocious defensive rating of 110 points given up per 100 possessions. Even James Harden, who has entire YouTube montages dedicated to his horrendously lazy defense, had a better defensive rating (107) this season. Barbosa had a much smaller sample size to work with, but that’s still not very encouraging.
