Kyle Singler: Detroit Pistons MIP
By Adam McGee
Free Throws
As a guy who is going to spend a lot of his time out on the perimeter, Singler’s visits to the charity stripe aren’t going to be the most regular. It’s still an important aspect of his game though, as he’s the sort of guy that the team would like to inbound to when holding the lead near the end of close games.
A very good free throw shooter in his first year in the NBA, Singler improved his percentage further this season. Having shot 80.6 percent from the line as a rookie, the 26-year-old upped his percentage by another couple of points to 82.6 this season.
What’s more important though, is Singler looking to get himself these freebies more often. He attempted 2.2 free throws per game this season, up from 1.5 the year before. Looking ahead, if he could try to double this tally next season, it would be a big addition to his game.
