Washington Wizards 102, INDIANA PACERS 96
Game 1, Eastern Conference Semifinals
The Wizards won their first game in a conference semifinal series since April 28, 1982, and it was not nearly as close as the final score indicates.

Until George Hill went crazy with three 3-pointers in the final minute, the Wizards maintained a double-digit lead for most of the game after blasting out of the gate with early leads of 8-0 and 26-12.

Bradley Beal scored 14 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter as Washington clamped down its defense over the final 7:30 of the game, holding Indiana without a basket for seven minutes during that stretch.

The Wizards are now 4-0 on the road in the playoffs and have won seven in a row away from the Verizon Center in D.C. stretching back to the regular season.

Beal also had five steals for Washington, while Trevor Ariza knocked down 22 points—including going 6-for-6 from 3-point range—and Nene Hilario chipped in with 15 points. Marcin Gortat finished with 12 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks, John Wall went for 13 points and nine assists and Drew Gooden came off the bench for 12 points and 13 rebounds—seven on the offensive glass—in just 18 minutes.

Hill and Paul George had 17 points each for the Pacers and David West went for 15 points and 12 rebounds, but Roy Hibbert’s disappearing act resumed—he had zero points and zero rebounds in 18 minutes.

Game 2 is Wednesday in Indianapolis.
