Blake Griffin gave the Clippers the lead with 2:10 remaining and Los Angeles held off the Warriors down the stretch, with J.J. Redick making a pair of free throws with 12.1 seconds remaining to put the Clippers up by four.
It just the third series victory for the Clipper franchise in the last 38 years and it was the first time the franchise had ever hosted a Game 7. The Warriors failed to advance in consecutive postseasons for the first time since 1975-77.
The Clippers had four players with at least 20 points. Griffin had 24, Chris Paul and Jamal Crawford added 22 apiece and Redick scored 20. DeAndre Jordan finished with 15 points, 18 rebounds and three blocked shots, Paul had 14 assists and four steals and Griffin had three steals and three blocks.
Stephen Curry had 33 points, nine assists and three steals for the Warriors, Draymond Green tossed in 24 points and Klay Thompson added 15. David Lee finished with 13 points and 13 rebounds.
The Clippers open their conference semifinal series at Oklahoma City on Monday.
