Involving Kyle Korver Offensively

From the regular season and opening two playoff games combined, the Hawks are 17-10 when Kyle Korver attempts 10 or more field goals. When he takes less than 10, their record is only 21-25 though. In Game 1, Korver had 12 points on 5-of-12 shooting, and the Hawks won the game, while in Game 2, the 32 year old took five shots for a poor return of only three points in a defeat.

It seems fairly self-explanatory, the more Kyle Korver gets involved, the greater Atlanta’s chances of victory will be. Korver has had an outstanding series defensively so far, but it’s now up to his coach and his teammates to help get him going offensively.

As Jon Washburn’s great article analyzing the screening of both teams for 8 Points, 9 seconds highlighted, despite many other things going wrong, the Hawks screened well in Game 2. Atlanta successfully executed on 39 of their 69 screens in the game, and looking ahead to Game 3 they need to ensure that Kyle Korver is running off some of those screens at the 3-point line.
