The Hawks have enjoyed great success over the Bobcats this season, but it was a very different looking Atlanta starting five for this game compared to their previous meetings. With the Hawks eyes looking ahead to the playoffs, coach Budenholzer rested three of his key men in Kyle Korver, DeMarre Carroll and Paul Millsap.

With playoff seeding still on the line, there was no such luxury for the Bobcats though. They came out looking determined to win and jumped out to an early lead. It wasn’t long until the Hawks cut back into it though, as regardless of personnel it started to look like they had the Bobcats number. Atlanta dominated the second and third quarters, meaning they entered the final period with a 15 point lead.

At this point it became evident who wanted it more. The Bobcats closed out with a 30-13 fourth quarter, rounded off by a Chris Douglas-Roberts game winner, and prevented the season sweep.
