For a guy who was taken with the 60th pick of the 2011 draft, and is listed at only 5’9″, it’s fair to say that Isaiah Thomas has carved out a pretty nice niche for himself. In just three years in the league, Thomas has gone from being the final pick of the draft to a guy who averaged 20.6 points and 6.3 assists this season. When you throw in 1.3 steals and a true shooting percentage of 57.5, it’s hard to understand why Thomas isn’t getting hype for Most Improved Player.

Thomas hits the market as a restricted free agent this summer, and if any team decides to take a gamble on someone and overpay for their current talent level, they could do a lot worse than Thomas. His potent scoring makes him a very appealing talent, as with that as a base, there’s plenty of scope to refine his game. The Pistons could definitely do with more offense in their backcourt, and although the spelling is different, I’m sure Pistons fans wouldn’t object to another guy called Isaiah Thomas.
