Gordon Hayward is one of the more interesting prospects hitting the free agency market this summer, although the Jazz having the option to match any offers made to Hayward may render other teams interest as immaterial. As a 24-year-old, Hayward is coming off the back of a season where he has averaged 16.1 points, 5.1 assists and 5.1 rebounds.

With the ability to play at either the 2 or 3 spot, Hayward is likely to attract plenty of attention this summer. If the Pistons were to pursue Hayward, they should be careful not to overpay out of desperation. The former Butler Bulldog is undoubtedly talented, but it’s worth noting that with more attention on him due to the departures of Paul Millsap and Al Jefferson, Hayward is set to complete the worst shooting season of his career so far.
