Detroit Pistons Weekly: Closer To Keeping The Pick
By Adam McGee
Toronto Raptors – Sunday, April 13 (Palace of Auburn Hills)
The Pistons run of playing teams either trying to make the playoffs, or with their place already booked, continued as the Toronto Raptors visited the Motor City. The Raptors have transformed their fortunes since they decided to trade Rudy Gay earlier in the season, and find themselves in position to wrap up the third seed in the East.
They started this game as if they had no intention of letting the Pistons getting in the way of that goal either. The Raptors scored 42 points in the opening period, opening up a quick 16 point lead. From that point on, the Pistons had their backs up against the wall.
Detroit rallied in the second and third, meaning that they entered the final period only trailing by a single point. The Pistons had no real answer for DeMar DeRozan though who took over in the fourth and would finish the game with 30 points. In the end, the Pistons went down by nine points as the Raptors equaled their franchise record for wins.
