Detroit Pistons Weekly: Closer To Keeping The Pick
By Adam McGee
Cleveland Cavaliers – Wednesday, April 9 (Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland)
As the Pistons arrived in the state of Ohio, the Cleveland Cavaliers were looking to do everything in their power to hang on to their slim chance of making the playoffs. After the Pistons had given them a helping hand by beating the Hawks the night before, the Cavaliers were motivated to keep pushing.
Cleveland started incredibly fast, playing some of their best basketball of the season. They had 69 points in the first half, while keeping the Pistons points total below 20 in each of the first two quarters. The Cavaliers had 26 assists in the first half and 41 overall, setting franchise records in both categories, and showing the sort of unselfish and efficient offense that puts a game out of sight in a hurry.
The Pistons fought back a little in the second half, and five Pistons scored in double digits, but it would be nowhere near enough to overturn a colossal deficit. The game finished with Cleveland winning by 22 points.
