The Hawks traveled to the capital in order to close out what had been a very tight season series between them and the Wizards. Having played without their sharpshooter Kyle Korver all week, the Hawks suffered a further blow with DeMarre Carroll unavailable due to a virus.

If any team is used to being shorthanded, it’s the Hawks though, and they got on with the job at hand in this one. Jeff Teague and Paul Millsap led the way in scoring with 19 and 17 points respectively, while Cartier Martin, Lou Williams and Pero Antic all chipped in with double figures to help shoulder the scoring load.

Off the back of five straight defeats, the Hawks had a real chance to snap that streak in this one. A missed Jeff Teague layup in the closing seconds prevented the game from going to overtime though, as the Hawks misery was extended.
