NBA: Player Rankings – Week 14
5. Paul George (SF, Indiana Pacers)
There is a glitch in the Matrix right now for George, whose shooting touch has left him temporarily. He has made just 38 percent of his shots in the Pacers’ last five games, and just 19 percent from 3-point range. It’s uncharacteristic work from one of the league’s most meticulous operators. A shooting slump in the days and weeks leading up to the All-Star game means there is plenty of time for George to regain his form before the stretch run of the season begins. It also means the Pacers have to survive his slump, as well. A shooting slump, if one has to come, is certainly welcomed sooner rather than later.
