Detroit Pistons Weekly: Rest and Rehabilitation
By Adam McGee
Philadelphia 76ers – Saturday, Feb. 1 (Palace of Auburn Hills)
After the cancellation of the Pistons game with the Hawks in Atlanta due to adverse weather, Detroit were well rested and prepared for the visit of the 76ers on Saturday night. The Sixers were on the second night of a back to back, after losing by 26 to the Hawks in Atlanta on Friday.
The difference in rest time showed from early on in this game, as Detroit took control and never looked back. The Pistons got great productivity out of four of their key men to inspire them to a 17 point victory.
Andre Drummond led the way with 22 points while also grabbing 14 rebounds. Greg Monroe had 21 points and 12 boards. Brandon Jennings was aggressive from the point for 20 points. While perhaps one of the biggest bonuses for Detroit was the performance of Kyle Singler. Singler, generally a strong performer off the bench, stepped up big in this game for 20 points and 10 boards to make the difference for Detroit.
