You’re The Worst At…Rebounding

It’s not that I expect point guards to pound the glass, because I certainly don’t. I also don’t expect them to pull down rebounds at an equivalent rate to the forwards, who are in much better position most of the time. With that said, if you’re pulling down 3.5 percent of the total rebounds on the floor, as D.J. Augustin is, you……just might be the worst rebounder in the league. This is no shock to those who have followed Augustin’s career. He averages 2.7 rebounds per-36 minutes and is actually below that this season, averaging just 2.3. Don’t long rebounds happen once in a while? Is Augustin some sort of turnstile on the defensive perimeter that refuses to go into the paint? I’d imagine Augustin finds himself in the right spot at least once per game, so to say he’s got no desire to rebound the basketball is probably accurate.
