After the Celtics got to within three at 73-70 with 4:37 to go in the fourth period, the Nets ran off five straight points, capped by a Paul Pierce jumper, but Boston had one more run. They trailed by three points when Rajon Rondo got a rebound and headed up court, only to have the ball stolen by long-time former teammate Kevin Garnett, who scored Brooklyn’s final basket. Andray Blatche scored 17 points to lead the Nets while Garnett had three steals. Brandon Bass had 17 for the Celtics and Jared Sullinger blocked three shots for Boston, which has now lost 17 of its last 20 games.

DALLAS MAVERICKS 116, Detroit Pistons 106
Dirk Nowitzki scored 28 points and the Mavericks kept the Pistons sliding, handing Detroit its fourth straight loss. Jose Calderon added 17 points for Dallas and Samuel Dalembert had three blocks. Brandon Jennings scored 26 points for the Pistons, Josh Smith added 25 and Greg Monroe tossed in 20, while rookie Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had four steals.
