Welcome to your Daily NBA Fix for Saturday, Jan. 25, and what a night it was in the NBA!

Paul George willed his Indiana Pacers past a plucky Sacramento Kings team playing without its top two scorers, Kyle Lowry messed around and got a triple-double (I give myself one of these per year and I made it almost to the end of January), Chandler Parsons set an NBA record by draining 10 3-pointers … in a half.

Then there were lesser lights taking on starring roles. Mirza Teletovic erupted for 24 points in the second quarter of Brooklyn’s win over the Mavericks on his way to a career-high 34. Marcus Thornton … (pause) … yes, Marcus Thornton went off for 22 points in the first quarter against the NBA’s best defensive club, the Pacers, on his way to a 42-point night.

But all of them took a back seat to Carmelo Anthony on Friday night. Anthony scored a New York Knicks franchise-record 62 points … and sat out the final 7:19 … against the Bobcats. More on that story can be found here.

So there will be some competition for the top five players, for sure, as the Daily NBA Fix will still deliver highlights, game capsules, the top and bottom five players, the dreaded Goose Egg, Clean and Sober and Ironman awards, we’ll recap who’s circling the drain, there will be some interesting pieces of relevant (and not-so-relevant) information and we’ll look at today’s daily lines for those people who like to wager a buck or two.

Check out the highlights below from the night that was, then get into the game capsules (home teams in CAPS).
