3. Defense

LeBron is the better and more versatile defender. Sorry Kevin, but you’re not going to beat King James in this department anytime soon, but what you can do is close the gap. That is exactly what he has done. Durant is on pace for a career high in defensive wins shared. There is a noticeable difference in his defensive effort and efficiency. Another reason why he is closing the gap is because LeBron is having one of his worst defensive seasons. He is on pace for his worse defensive wins shared since his rookie year and his 0.3 blocks per game is half the amount of his previous career low. Durant, on the other hand, is blocking one shot a game and recording 1.6 steals.
