Daily NBA Fix 1-11-14: 5 Straight For Brooklyn
By Phil Watson
BROOKLYN NETS 104, Miami Heat 95 (2OT)
Joe Johnson scored 22 of his 32 points in the first quarter and the Nets held the Heat to just six points in the two overtime periods combined. Miami had to rally from 14 points down to tie the game on a LeBron James foul shot with 40 seconds to go. Johnson and Paul Pierce both missed in Brooklyn’s final possession of regulation. James had 36 points before fouling out. Wait, what??? Yes, LeBron James fouled out of a game for the first time since April 2, 2008, when he was still with the Cavaliers.
Chicago Bulls 81, MILWAUKEE BUCKS 72
Don’t look now, but the Bulls have won four in a row and are now tied with Washington for fifth in the Eastern Conference. Carlos Boozer had 19 points and 13 boards for Chicago and Mike Dunleavy added 18 points. O.J. Mayo paced the Bucks with 16 off the bench.
