Cleveland Cavaliers Weekly: Rough Stretch Continues for the Cavs
Tuesday, Jan. 7 vs. 76ers, Win 111-93
This type of game is great for boosting the Cavaliers’ confidence. Sure, the 76ers are absolute garbage and a complete abomination defensively. But this was a beatdown. C.J. Miles notched 34 points while making 10 3-pointers. As a team, the Cavs went 46.4 percent from beyond the arc. Thompson and Varejao both posted double-doubles. Irving, after missing the past three games, scored 18 points on 6-for-9 from the field. The Cavs also completely demolished the 76ers on the boards, outrebounding Philly 58-38.
Star rookie Michael Carter-Williams led the 76ers with 33 points and only committed one turnover. The rest of the team did not play nearly as well, shooting only 39.5 percent for the game and making a paltry four 3-pointers in 19 attempts.
