Sunday, Jan. 5 vs. Pacers, Loss 82-78

After losing to the Pacers in Indiana only a few days earlier, the Cavs couldn’t avenge the loss Sunday night in Cleveland. The defense played especially strong, allowing no Pacer to score more than 16 points. C.J. Miles, meanwhile, posted a game high 21 points for the Cavs. In the fourth quarter, the Cavaliers crawled back, cutting the deficit to only one point; however, they missed opportunities down the stretch to capitalize and could not pull the upset against the Eastern Conference leading Pacers. They outrebounded again the Pacers, but, as usual, it was the team’s pathetic offense that cost them a win. Going 34.2 percent from the field and only 30 percent from 3-point land crushed the Cavs’ hopes for victory.
