The Return Of Iggy:

When Golden State first pegged Andre Iguodala with the “out indefinitely” label (on the same day Derrick Rose and Marc Gasol went down) nobody was sure how long it’d take for him to return. Luckily for Warriors fans, waiting for Andre Iguodala to come back didn’t take nearly as long waiting for the return of the other Dre. Iggy’s been held to about 24 minutes per game in his first three contests and his production has been virtually non-existent because of those shortened minutes and a little rust. But since he came back, Golden State is holding opponents to 93.3 points per game and sports a 2-1 record.

Small sample size? Sure. But in the 12 games with Iggy sidelined, the Warriors were giving up an Al Jefferson-esque 105.3 points per game. Compare that to the 96 points allowed in 16 games with Iguodala on the court and it’s pretty easy to see the immense defensive impact he has on this team. He’ll need some time to shake off the rust and start contributing on the offensive end, but Iguodala’s defense is a welcome boost that will help Golden State start turning things around.
