Tuesday, Dec. 17 vs. Trail Blazers, Loss 119-116
Damien Lillard knocked down a buzzer-beating shot to give Portland a win in their previous game and he found the magic again, hitting a game-winning 3 as time expired, giving him 36 points for the game. LaMarcus Aldridge also put together a monster game with 26 points an 15 rebounds. The Trail Blazers hit 15 3-pointers during the game, compared to the Cavaliers’ nine.
Irving and Waiters led the Cavs in scoring with 25 points each, although Irving’s 9-for-22 wasn’t particularly efficient. He did, though, contribute 10 assists to earn a double-double. Varejao’s layup in the closing seconds tied the game at 116 and the game looked destined for overtime, but Lillard’s clutch 3 thwarted the Cavs’ hopes.
