Daily NBA Fix 12-17-13: Heat Roll, Pacers Stumble

I bet Brandon Rush wishes he could go back to Golden State at this point. He’s our Goose Egg winner, playing 20:37, only attempting one shot and securing one rebound. That’s a lot of time to do absolutely nothing. Before his knee injury, Rush was a major contributor from the 3-point line. Now, he’s a decoy?!?
Clean and Sober Award (most minutes without taking a shot)
Can’t give Shane Battier too much of a hard time, but he did win our Clean and Sober award for playing 17:11 without attempting a shot. The fact that the Heat shot over 63 percent as a team means they had no need for Battier, apparently. At least Shane had two rebounds and a block (and a team victory).
Iron Man Award (most minutes played)
Nobody should question Carmelo Anthony’s desire to play basketball. He is durable and he wants to be out there producing at all times. Unfortunately, it resulted in another loss, although Anthony’s 42:01 is our Iron Man winner. Someone’s getting fired in New York soon and it’s not Jason Kidd.
