This past road trip Blake Griffin performed less than adequately as the Clippers finished 4-3 on a seven-game road trip that easily could have been a great deal better. While Chris Paul was left perform a majority of the offensive work, Griffin stood to the side while his shooting percentage and rebounding statistics fell drastically. Despite this, Griffin remains one of the most athletic players in the league that only has one major deficiency: a poor jump shot. If Blake improves this few people can stand in his way as he competes for the best power forward in the league. So far this season Blake has averaged 20.1 points and 10.4 rebounds per game while posting a PER of 19.82 which ranks 10th in the league among power forwards. The Clippers have shown signs of superior play throughout this season, and if they wish to go far in the playoffs, their hopes rest on Blake Griffin’s shoulders. We all know CP3 will come to play, but if Griffin can put up consistently solid numbers, the Clippers will be hard to beat.
