Trade: Sixers receive Dion Waiters; Cavaliers receive Evan Turner
Why the Sixers do the deal: Evan Turner is currently better than Dion Waiters. And by some distance. This makes them worse immediately. Additionally, Dion Waiters is still on his rookie deal, so his contract is team-managed and very cheap. He’s also a Syracuse guy.
Why the Cavaliers do the deal: They are under pressure to make the playoffs, and Evan Turner would bring some immediate scoring and playmaking ability. He’s averaging over 20 points per game and could take some of the scoring load off of Kyrie Irving.
