Kyrie is Back – Maybe Kyrie Irving just needed Kobe Bryant back in the league to be a star. Irving scored 37 with 11 assists as the Cavs shot a gaudy 56.8 percent from the field. Jarrett Jack added 17 off the bench. The Knicks got 29 from Carmelo Anthony but as has been the case, nobody could rebound and the Knicks are still in trouble.
Minnesota Timberwolves 121, DETROIT PISTONS 94
That’s Better – That’s more like the Wolves we expected to see. Kevin Love scored 26 with 16 rebounds and seven assists, Nikola Pekovic and Kevin Martin added 18 and Ricky Rubio scored 15 with nine assists and two steals. The Pistons impressive frontcourt got handled by the Wolves and were outrebounded 46-39. Brandon Jennings led the team with 20 points and seven assists.
