Since Oladipo was the second rookie to post a triple-double this season, it’s only fitting that Michael Carter-Williams, Oladipo’s competition for the top spot in the Rookie Rankings, was the first. The funny thing is, both of their triple-doubles came in the same game this past Tuesday night. MCW finished with 27 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists on 11-for-19 shooting from the field.
MCW has done it all for the Philadelphia 76ers and has made them a respectable team this season. His incredible start has surprised everyone but he has been incredibly consistent and shows no signs of slowing down. By averaging 17 points, almost six rebounds and seven assists per game is remarkable in itself. At this rate, MCW should have the Rookie of the Year race locked up. Of course, it’s just the beginning of December, so that’s a little premature.
However, it’s his race to lose but Oladipo and Burke are hot on his trail right now. This race is just starting to get interesting.
