Memphis Grizzlies: Is Mike Conley An Elite Point Guard?

On the defensive end is where Conley helps the Grizzlies out just as much if not more than other point guards. Since 2009 Conley has been in the top 10 in steals for point guards, and many times in the top five. Furthermore, Conley is part of the Grizzlies defense that ranked first last year and fifth this year in points allowed per game. Conley is a big part of this defense now and moving forward.

Many people say that Chris Paul is an elite point guard defender, however, Paul has committed 13 more fouls than Conley this year. Conley has learned how to play defense without fouling, which is key when guarding point guards that can make their free throws.
