MVP of the Week

Dion Waiters played exceptionally well over the past week averaging 21.7 PPG on 52.4 percent shooting. Waiters’ success is obviously a positive note for the Cavs; however, his bench success does not mean he’s headed back into the starting lineup anytime soon. Instead, it boosts his trade value.

Chris Broussard reported earlier in the week that the Cavs had engaged in trade discussions with several teams in regards to Waiters. They reportedly had their sights on the 76ers’ Evan Turner, the Knicks’ Iman Shumpert and the Bulls’ Luol Deng. If the team is serious about trading Waiters, they’ll need to make a move at a time like now when he is playing his best basketball of the season.
