Twin 1 and Twin 2:

I don’t think anyone would have ever predicted that Markieff Morris would win a Western Conference Player of the Week award this season. Since that eye-opening week, Suns fans have been expecting big things from him. The results have been mixed, as Morris’ night-and-day performances against the Utah Jazz show. Friday, Morris was a burst of energy off the bench, racking up 23 points on 8-of-13 shooting in 28 minutes off the bench. The following night, he went just 2-for-8 from the floor to the tune of five points and seven rebounds.
Marcus Morris has also had problems with his consistency. After averaging 14.7 points in Phoenix’s three prior games, Morris put up a meager four points on Friday and nine points on Saturday (going 6-of-16 from the field during that stretch). Playing shortened minutes off the bench can be tricky in the NBA and the Morris twins have been excellent reserves for the most part. But the loss to the lowly Jazz at home shows just how important the Morris twins, and bench production in general, are to the Phoenix Suns.
