Phoenix Suns Weekly: Against Utah Jazz, First To 112 Wins
Where Art Thou, Archie?
Archie Goodwin showed signs of his potential two weeks ago when he put up 16 points in 19 minutes against the Sacramento Kings. But since then, all Goodwin has shown are signs of his youth. In the seven games since Goodwin’s big night, he’s scored a total of 15 points and he hasn’t scored in the last two. Goodwin’s playing time has also taken a hit with the return of Bledsoe, dropping to just five minutes per game in the Suns’ last three games.
Has Jeff Hornacek lost faith in his 19-year-old rookie? It’s too early to say, especially since Phoenix’s lineups have been pretty sporadic so far. With Dragic, Bledsoe and Green already taking up big minutes in the backcourt, Goodwin will have to work hard to earn his playing time this season. We’ve seen the potential. Now he just has to continue to develop it when he gets his rare chances.
