After missing six games with what must have been the worst shin bruise in the history of mankind, Eric Bledsoe returned to action in Friday night’s 112-101 win over the Jazz. Bledsoe had a very efficient night coming off the bench, posting 19 points, six rebounds, three steals and two assists in 28 minutes. He shot 7-of-11 from the field and looked pretty comfortable from the start, racking up numbers in every column of the stat sheet the way Suns fans were getting used to at the start of the season.
Bledsoe took a small step backward on Saturday night though, finishing with just 13 points, two rebounds and two assists in Phoenix’s 112-104 defeat. Bledsoe came off the bench and played 28 minutes once again, but other than his 8-point third quarter he looked visibly upset that Jazz rookie Trey Burke was getting the best of him. Bledsoe and Goran Dragic have now missed a combined nine games this season, depriving fans of that intriguing backcourt we’ve been waiting to see. It’s a small sample size, but given how mediocre Bledsoe and Dragic have been coming off the bench behind the other, how long until these two actually start together? And will it work?
