I don’t know what happened, but something about the change to Dallas revitalized Monta Ellis. So far this season, Ellis is averaging 20.6 points,2.5 assists and 6.1 rebounds per game. This is the first time in a while that Ellis has both averaged more than 20 points per game and been in the top 10 in scoring average. Only twice in his eight-year career has he averaged more points than he’s averaging now (2009-10 and 2010-11). With Ellis and Dirk Nowitzki leading the offensive front for the Mavs, the team has been doing quite well, posting a 10-8 record to start the season. If Ellis continues his high scoring spree, who knows what could happen in Dallas. I’m sure Mark Cuban has something up his sleeve, though.
