Monday’s Results (home team in CAPS)
CLEVELAND CAVALIERS 93, Minnesota Timberwolves 92
Too Little, Too Late – After cruising to a 17-point halftime lead against the sleepy Wolves, Kevin Love and company made a big run at the end of the game, only to miss with the game on the line. C.J. Miles scored 19 points off the bench with two steals and two blocks. Kyrie Irving chipped in with 15 points, eight rebounds, six assists, one steal and two blocks. Kevin Martin led the Wolves in scoring with 23 and Love added 17, 13 rebounds and five assists.
Golden State Warriors 110, PHILADELPHIA 76ERS 90
Golden Crush – The Warriors led by 33 heading to the fourth quarter and kicked in the cruise control. Stephen Curry had a triple-double, with 18 points, 10 rebounds, 12 assists, five steals and even a block. He only shot 2-of-9 from 3-point land though … what a bum. Did I mention that was in just 29 minutes? Andre Iguodala scored 32, including 7-of-11 from 3 … maybe he can teach Curry a thing or two. Everybody’s new Rookie of the Year darling, Michael Carter-Williams, scored 18 on 4-of-17 shooting.
MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES 95, Boston Celtics 88
Return of the Grind – For the first time in this young season, the Grizzlies held an opponent under 100 points. Never mind that it was the horrific Celtics. Memphis employed a balanced attack, getting 15 each from Mike Conley, Zach Randolph and Jerryd Bayless. Tony Allen added in four steals. For the Celtics, they actually led this game by six going to the fourth quarter, but fell apart. Jeff Green scored 22, including going 9-of-12 from the free-throw line.
LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS 137, Houston Rockets 118
Fire! Fire! Fire! – The Clippers led by 17 after the first quarter and never took their foot off the gas. Chris Paul scored 23 with 17 assists and two steals, J.J. Redick led the team with 26 points and the Clippers shot 52.1 percent against the Houston defense. All five starters scored in double-digits in a game that Los Angeles was never really tested. The Rockets had seven players in double figures, with Omri Casspi leading the way with 19 off the bench. Dwight Howard scored 13 with nine rebounds in a rather pedestrian performance.

Random Tidbits
When the Houston Rockets score 118 points and James Harden, Dwight Howard and Jeremy Lin have pedestrian games, what happens when they’re on their game … Iguodala will be the biggest signing of the year if he can continue to make the 3 … Redick and the Clippers are a match made in heaven, especially with his late-game free-throw abilities … Strange to see four different Clippers with five fouls in a blowout game … Kyrie Irving with NINE turnovers (and I don’t mean pastries…sorry, Boris Diaw)
