The Black Mamba strikes again…

These days, it seems no matter what Kobe Bryant does, he is always making headlines. There is simply no way for him to escape the spotlight and it doesn’t help when you are living in the mega capital that is Los Angeles.

In a summer where the top stories of the offseason were LeBron James and the Miami Heat winning back to back titles, the Dwight Howard sweepstakes, and Chris Paul re-signing with Lob City, Kobe has been in the mix as well. He was a key spokesperson at the Lakers meeting with Howard trying to convince him to stay, but he received criticism because of how his words came across. His words were reportedly a turn off for Howard, as he ended up signing with the Houston Rockets.

Kobe made more noise when he stated that he was not going to take a pay cut next summer, which was widely sensationalized. He also announced his intentions to retire as a Laker. More recently, he had another interview on TV with Jimmy Kimmel where he brought up old issues with Shaquille O’Neal. He also discussed the differences between Howard and himsel

What’s the very latest on Kobe ? Earlier this week, he posted a video on Instagram of one of his rehab sessions which included jogging on a treadmill. After rupturing his Achilles in April, seeing Kobe back on a treadmill in August is just incredible . It speaks volumes of his work ethic and determination to always be the best.

The season is getting closer and closer and it’s clear Kobe wanted to put the rest of the league and world on notice that even at 34, he’s different than every other player. Seeing his progress is a reminder to all his fans that he will not let them down in his pursuit of sixth ring, no matter the obstacle.

The Black Mamba is coming…
